RE: Camp grounds near San Diego

we just stayed at santee lakes for a month and drove to both Sea World and wild Animal Park. We also went to lego Land, The campground is right off hyw 52 so it is easy to go north and west from there.

RE: Walmart more heart then KOA

I feel I need to add my 2 cents, We have stated at the KOA in cherokee nc several times and have had great times the people and grounds are nice but on one trip I broke a tooth on friday 4 hours after we got there I made it thru the night and left saturday in the morrning. The Manager came and help me and my family pack up and gave us a refund for both saturday and sunday. I known that they are high riced there but with 4 pools 3 playgrounds 3 lakes 1 river and everything else I think it is worth it.
On the flip side I have also stayed at some trashed KOA's
Kingman AZ. for example

voyager vs. P3

I have a voyager brake contoler and have been thinking of getting the P3 for my long 5week trip. My question is is it worth spending the money on a brake contorler when I have one that works, I really just dont like how it works with my new fiver.

RE: to take gen or not?

so there is no other differance between a contractor type and a "rv" type, other than a noise factor?

RE: And the search for the perfect bunk house continues....

Sorry, I took the price from RVW to my local dealer as a starting point. Like I said I did pay a little more but right in your price range.

RE: to take gen or not?

You're going on a trip "out West".
"Out West' - could be the mountains, close to the ocean, or the desert . . .
some or all of the time. (you didn't say where you're going)
WE are going to San Diego. my big problem is that I have a tool box in my truck and with the hitch the gen will not fit. I looke at adding a reciver on the rear of the fiver and fabing up a tray for the gen but at this time I have not come up with any firm plans as to how and what I want. As far as the noise it is not to loud I had a friend make a baffle system for it as we need to run it in office building sometimes and can not have the noise.

to take gen or not?

We are leaving out on a trip out west for three weeks, we will have four days of travel before we get to the CG we will be staying at my question is should I carry the extra weight of my gen or leave it at home, it is a 6500 watt coleman appox 120lb I know this is not much but trying to save where I can we will be in cg's every night.

RE: Fresh Water Fill, Won't Fill up

I had the same thing on my fiver, after I took it back to the dealer to fix the problem was where the vent tube went in to the tank, They opened up the hole a little more and now it works great.

RE: words of caution

My brother came with me while I was shopping for my fiver and smacked his head on a bedroom slide on the lot, Laid him out picked himself up and we walked to the next unit and he did the same thing at that point he just went and sat in the truck. At least both cuts were on different sides.
